S90 Hybrid Exhaust Smell and Check Engine Light

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2021 Volvo S90 hybrid. The check engine light is on, the engine runs roughly, there's an exhaust leak, and a strong exhaust smell. The car has 229214 km. I suspect an exhaust treatment malfunction. Any insights?

Hey, I had something similar with my S90. Check engine light, rough idle, and a nasty smell. I'd bet it's the lambda sensor. Are you losing DEF fluid quickly, or noticing anything weird with the particulate filter?

Thank you for the quick reply. I haven't observed any unusual DEF fluid consumption. How did you resolve the issue with your vehicle?

Honestly, I tried a few things, but ended up taking it to the shop. Turned out it was the lambda sensor like I suspected. It can mess with the catalytic converter and NOx sensors too. Best get it checked professionally, before it causes more damage.

Understood. I appreciate the advice. I'll schedule an appointment with a qualified technician to assess the lambda sensor and other exhaust components. The repair cost was 375€. Thank you again.
