Thanks, I hadn't thought about the oxygen sensor. Can a bad oxygen sensor cause jerking during acceleration? I thought it was more about idle and fuel economy.

Yes, the jerking was there, especially when the engine was cold. I'm no mechanic, but that's what it felt like. I am pretty sure it is not the fuel injectors though. It was easier to visit a workshop in my case.

Thanks for confirming the acceleration issue and the fuel injectors info. Following your advice, I visited a workshop, and it was a leak in the exhaust system causing the oxygen sensor to read wrong. The repair was 265€! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra diesel: check engine light, rough idle. It was an oxygen sensor on its way out. Have you checked that?
