S90 Parking Aid Failure

Parking aid system failed on my 2021 Volvo S90 diesel. The dashboard says "Parking assistant without function," and the error memory confirms it. Only 26280 km on the clock! Could this be related to the blind spot sensors, ultrasonic sensors, or even the radar sensors? I'm worried it might be a control module issue or faulty wiring. Has anyone else encountered this? What could be the problem?

I have an S90 too, and your issue sounds awfully familiar. I had a similar problem with my parking aid. It turned out to be a defective cable or plug connection. Think of it like a loose wire on a lamp – everything seems fine, but it just won't light up. Have you checked the connections to the parking sensors?

Interesting analogy. I haven't checked the connections myself, as I don't have much experience with car electrics. Where exactly are these connections located? Are they easily accessible, or would it be best to leave this to a professional?

On mine the parking sensor connections were a bit fiddly to get to, down near the bumper. Unless you're comfortable poking around with electrical components, I'd really suggest taking it to a workshop. Apparently, the cable or plug connection of the component is defective. My bill was around 95€.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and advice. It seems like a trip to the workshop is inevitable. Considering the relatively low cost of repair (95€), it's worth getting it sorted professionally. I appreciate your help!
