Summary of the thread
A 2017 Volvo S90 is experiencing low heating output and a solar sensor fault. The issue is suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. Another owner with a similar problem confirmed it was the solar sensor and resolved it by visiting a workshop. The original issue was indeed a defective cable connection to the solar sensor, which was fixed at a cost of 95€.

Fluctuating temperature, you say? I haven't noticed that specifically, but it's possible. Was it definitely the solar sensor in your case? Did you try any troubleshooting steps before getting it fixed?

Yeah, for me it ended up being the solar sensor. I didn't mess with it myself. Just took it to a workshop. They confirmed the sensor and replaced it. Honestly, saved me a headache.

Appreciate the insight. Workshop visit it is! Turns out, as suspected, it was a defective cable connection to the solar sensor. Cost me 95€, all in. Thanks again!

Sounds familiar! I had something similar with my S90. Is the temperature inside the car also fluctuating a bit? Could be a sensor issue for sure.
