S90 Windshield Wipers Fail

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely check the wiring and connectors like you said. Where exactly would I find the wiring harness for the wiper motor? And yes, my S90 does have a rain sensor. How would that affect things? Is that difficult to fix? I am not even sure what that is.

The wiring harness for the wiper motor is typically located near the motor itself, often under the hood near the base of the windshield. As for the rain sensor, it communicates with the wiper system. A fault in the sensor or its wiring could potentially interfere with wiper operation. Given the stored error code and the potential complexity of diagnosing electrical faults, taking your S90 to a qualified workshop for a professional diagnosis is advisable. A defective cable or plug connection for the component sounds like the likely cause.

Okay, I understand. I appreciate you confirming my suspicions about the wiring and the rain sensor possibly being involved. It sounds like this is getting a bit beyond my capabilities. I'll take it to a workshop and have them take a look. They quoted me around 95€, so fingers crossed! Thanks again for your help!

The symptoms you describe, specifically the wipers being non-functional and an error code being stored, suggest a potential electrical fault. It's plausible that the issue lies within the wiper switch itself or, more likely, within the associated wiring harness or plug connections. Before condemning the switch, I would advise inspecting the wiring harness and plug connecting to the wiper motor and switch for any signs of corrosion, damage, or loose connections. Also, does your S90 have a rain sensor? If so, that system could also be implicated.
