Safrane engine runs rough

Good day. I am experiencing issues with my 1999 Renault Safrane (gasoline engine). The engine runs rough, stalls at idle, and the check engine light is illuminated. Furthermore, the car jerks when accelerating. The car's mileage is 225791 km. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection.

Hey there, sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms with my Safrane. Rough running, stalling... a nightmare. Have you checked your ignition coil? That was the culprit in my case.

Yes, the check engine light was definitely on! Turned out to be a faulty ignition coil. Seriously, get it checked at a workshop. Saved me a lot of headache!
