Safrane Engine Stalling

My 2000 Renault Safrane (gasoline engine) has a recurring issue: check engine light keeps popping on, and the engine stalls sometimes when idling. I've been told it's likely a tank ventilation valve malfunction and the hoses seem a bit clogged. Anyone else experienced this?

Hey, I had something similar happen with my Renault Laguna. Check engine light and rough idling. Could be the EVAP system. Is it throwing any specific codes?

Thanks for the tip! No specific codes, unfortunately. Just the generic check engine light. Did you have to replace the whole system or just some parts?

Mine was the same - no specific codes. Turned out to be clogged hoses in the ventilation. I'd get it checked out at a workshop. They can properly diagnose and fix it.

Appreciate the insight! Turns out you were right; clogged hoses. Workshop cleaned and replaced a few parts. Cost me 175€ but the car runs smoothly now. Thanks again!
