Safrane GPS Antenna Fault

Having trouble with my 1999 Renault Safrane (gasoline engine). The navigation system shows 'No GPS Signal'. I scanned for errors and there's a stored fault related to the GPS antenna. I've checked the connections but no luck. I suspect the GPS antenna itself is defective. Anyone experienced this before?

Yeah, I had something similar with my Opel Astra. The navigation was useless. Is the antenna base corroded at all? That was the culprit in my case.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check the antenna base more closely for corrosion. Was it completely dead, or just intermittent? And did replacing the antenna fix the problem completely?

Mine was completely dead, no signal at all. Replacing the antenna fixed it for me. Given the age of the car and the error code, it's probably the antenna. Might be worth getting a quote from a workshop before you start replacing parts though.

Appreciate the advice. I checked the base, and it was indeed corroded. I got a quote for around 200€ to replace the antenna. I'll book it in. Thanks again!
