Safrane outside temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 1999 Renault Safrane diesel is experiencing issues with the outside temperature sensor, affecting the AC, spray nozzles, and mirror heating. The problem is suspected to be due to a faulty cable or plug. A workshop visit confirmed a corroded connector as the cause, and replacing the connector and sensor resolved the issue.

Good shout on the sensor, will give it a look. The error code is just a generic 'outside temperature sensor malfunction' or something similar. Doesn't really point to a specific wire or anything. Did yours throw the same vague code?

Yep, the code was about as helpful as a chocolate teapot. Given all your symptoms, and that it’s unlikely that all components would fail simultaneously, it really points to the sensor circuit. Best bet is a workshop; they can trace the cables properly.

Cheers. Took your advice and went to a workshop, and you were spot on. Turned out to be a corroded connector. New connector and sensor replacement later, and it cost me 95€, all working like a charm now!

Sounds familiar. I had similar gremlins in my Safrane. First, have you checked the sensor itself for obvious damage? Also, where is the error specifically pointing? That helps narrow things down.
