Safrane Stalling Idle Power Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Renault Safrane with a diesel engine is experiencing stalling at idle, a check engine light, and significant power loss. The initial suspicion is a faulty fuel volume regulator, with a possibility of issues with the high pressure pump. After further investigation, it is confirmed that both the fuel volume regulator and the high pressure pump are defective, leading to necessary repairs.

Car sensors, huh? Interesting. Which ones specifically caused the problems on your Opel?

I can't tell you exactly which ones but it ended up being a defective high pressure pump, which then damaged the fuel regulator. My suggestion is to go to the workshop!

Thanks for the insight. It was indeed the fuel volume regulator. High pressure pump defective as well. Cost me 1510€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue with my old Opel Insignia. Engine misfire and limp mode, though no stalling. Did you check the car sensors? Could be related to fuel efficiency or something like that...
