Sail rough starts and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Chevrolet Sail with a gasoline engine is experiencing rough starts, stalling when idling, and a check engine light. The issue is suspected to be related to the camshaft sensor. After consulting with others who had similar problems, it was confirmed that the camshaft sensor failure was due to a defective encoder wheel. Repairing these components resolved the issue, and the vehicle now runs smoothly.

Misfires are rare, but I did notice one or two. What exactly was wrong with yours?

The garage said it was definitely the encoder wheel on camshafts which caused the camshaft sensor to throw errors. It's probably best if you take yours in to get checked.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right. It was the camshaft sensor, caused by a defective encoder wheel. Total cost was 695€, but it runs perfectly now.

Hey, I had similar issues with my Sail. Rough starts, stalling... Does it also misfire sometimes? It could be crankshaft sensor issues as well, but seems like sensor failure.
