Sail start stop malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Chevrolet Sail with a gasoline engine experienced a malfunction in its start-stop system, where the engine would shut off but not automatically restart, despite the 'Eco' light being on. The issue was linked to low voltage and error messages indicating a start-stop system malfunction. The suggested solution was to test and potentially replace the battery, as start-stop systems are sensitive to battery charge levels. After replacing the defective battery, the system resumed normal operation.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yeah, I did. It says something about 'Start-stop system malfunction' and low voltage. So, you reckon it's just the battery? I thought maybe it was some fancy sensor or something. Is that why your Corsa did that?

That's exactly what happened with the Corsa! The error codes and symptoms were the same. Start-stop systems are pretty sensitive. I'd recommend getting your battery tested properly. If it's weak, replacing it might solve the problem. If not, then it is probably something fancy. In any case, I'd suggest going to a workshop to avoid further damage.

Thanks a lot for the advice! You were spot on! I took it to the shop, and they said the battery was heavily discharged and defective. They replaced it, and now the start-stop is working again. Cost me 290€, but at least it's fixed!

I had a similar problem with my old Opel Corsa. The start-stop relies heavily on the battery's charge. If the battery isn't holding enough juice, the system gets disabled to prevent you from getting stranded. You mentioned error messages, did you read them? The car might've stored a clue.
