SantaFe Cruise Control Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Hyundai SantaFe experienced a cruise control failure, displaying an error message and becoming non-functional. Initial checks for blown fuses revealed no issues. The problem was suspected to be a defective actuator or a bad cable connection, which might not be detectable with a basic OBD2 reader. A visit to a workshop confirmed a defective cable connection in the cruise control system, which was repaired.

Thanks! I've only got a basic code reader. Where exactly would I find the actuator to check the connections? And if it's throwing a code that my reader can't see, would a dealer definitely be able to?

It's tricky without knowing the exact code, but it does sound like the connection is defective if the cruise control is totally non-functional. Actuator location varies, so I would recommend you to visit a local garage. They will read the error memory, find the root cause and be able to check whether the cruise control is really broken.

Alright, appreciate the insight. Took it to the workshop, turned out to be a defective cable connection in the cruise control system, like you suspected. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Thanks again!

Sounds like a defective actuator, maybe just a bad cable or plug connection. Car electronics can be finicky. Does the error memory store any faults related to it? A generic OBD2 reader might not pick it up – you might need something that can access Hyundai-specific diagnostic codes.
