Santro engine stalls at idle
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Hyundai Santro with a gasoline engine stalls at idle, shows a check engine light, and experiences reduced power. The issue arose after changing the fuel filter, leading to suspicion of a faulty fuel pump. However, a similar case suggested checking the fuel pressure regulator, which was confirmed as the problem by a mechanic. The solution involved professional repair of the defective fuel pressure regulator.

Fuel regulator, huh? How did you figure that out? And is that something I can check myself, or am I better off taking it to someone? I'm not the most mechanically inclined.

Yeah, I had a mechanic check mine. I wasn't confident enough to mess with the fuel system myself. It turned out the fuel pressure regulator was defective. The error entry came after I changed the fuel filter. Cost me about 45€ to fix. I'd suggest getting it checked out professionally.

Thanks a lot for the tip! It was indeed the fuel pressure regulator. Took it to the shop, and they confirmed it right away. I appreciate the help!

I had something similar happen with my Santro. Rough idle, check engine light, the whole shebang. Did you notice any difference in your fuel efficiency before this started? Check the fuel rail pressure. It might be a fuel regulator issue.
