Good point. I haven't yet. Is there a recommended cleaner or procedure for cleaning the intake, or should I just replace the valve and call it a day?

While a cleaner might temporarily alleviate the issue, the root cause often requires physical cleaning or even valve replacement, especially with that mileage. Considering the error codes and symptoms, and based on my experience, I'd advise getting a professional diagnosis at a reputable workshop.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicions. Took it to the shop; intake was indeed heavily contaminated. They replaced the idle air control valve and cleaned the intake. Cost me 425€, but it's running perfectly now.

I've encountered similar issues on other gasoline engines when the intake is heavily contaminated. Before replacing the valve, have you inspected the air intake for excessive carbon buildup or other obstructions?
