Santro Radio Reception Issue

Experiencing radio reception issues with my 2021 Hyundai Santro, gasoline engine, which currently has 194433 km. Infotainment system displays an error, and the audio system is non-functional. Diagnostic scans reveal an error stored. I suspect a defective antenna. Has anyone else encountered similar problems with their Santro?

Interesting. I had very similar symptoms with my older Opel Corsa. In my case, the radio would cut out intermittently and display static. I tried everything, like checking all the connections I could easily reach, but nothing helped. Did you check the antenna base for corrosion or damage? Also, how's the signal strength in areas where you usually have good reception?

I did a visual inspection of the antenna base and didn't notice any obvious corrosion or damage. As for signal strength, it's practically non-existent even in locations where reception was previously excellent. Could a faulty antenna booster or a bad antenna ground be the culprit? Did you experience any specific error codes in your Corsa?

Unfortunately, I didn't check for specific error codes on my Corsa. Your mention of a faulty antenna booster definitely rings a bell, because I remember reading about those being a common issue, but for the Corsa. Given that the signal is completely gone even in good reception areas, it would be worth checking. However, the best course of action is to swing by a trustworthy mechanic to diagnose your car.

I appreciate your assistance! After thoroughly investigating the issue, it was indeed the antenna. The final repair cost was 255€. The radio is now working perfectly. Thank you for your advice!
