Saxo cold start issue

My 2000 Citroen Saxo with a gasoline engine has a noticeable degradation in engine performance during cold starts. It struggles to start and runs poorly until it warms up. Diagnostics suggest a potential cold start injector malfunction. Could it be a defective injector?

Hey, I had something similar on my Saxo. Rough idle when the engine was cold, almost like it was misfiring. Have you tried doing any injector tests, or checking the fuel rail pressure? It could also be something in the fuel system.

Thanks for the response. Could you tell me more about the issue you had with your Saxo? What did you do to find the problem, and how did you fix it?

Yeah, the rough idle was the main thing, plus it was hard to start sometimes. I didn't really do much myself, just took it to a workshop. They said it was something with the injector and replaced it.

Thanks for your help. I went to a workshop, and they confirmed a defective cold start injector. The replacement cost 515€, including labor and parts. The car's performance is back to normal now.
