Saxo Glow Plug Problem

Rough idle is noticeable, now that you mention it. And fuel efficiency seems a bit off. As for the code, I don't have the exact one, but the garage mentioned something about 'engine combustion' and a possible glow plug fault. Worth replacing them, or is there something else I should check first?

Sounds like your garage is on the right track then. With those symptoms and the error pointing towards engine combustion, it's highly likely the glow plugs are the culprit. Could try cleaning the contacts, but honestly, on a diesel that age, it's probably best to just bite the bullet and get them replaced. You'll probably end up at the workshop anyway.

Cheers! Ended up taking it to the workshop, and you were spot on – glow plugs were knackered. Cost me 440€ to get them all replaced, but she's running smooth now. Appreciate the advice!

Could be, yeah. But wouldn't a defective glow plug cause rough idling or affect fuel efficiency? Have you noticed anything like that? If it's throwing an error code, what exactly does it say?
