Saxo High Voltage Error

Good shout on the cables, I'll definitely give them a once-over. Hadn't thought about the 12V battery, though. Any chance that could actually be the culprit even with the high-voltage error message? The error memory indicates an electrical fault in the high-voltage system, but the 12V part is a good addition.

Indeed, even though the primary error points to the high-voltage system, a weak 12V battery can wreak havoc on the entire electrical system. It's like a foundation to a house; if it's weak, everything built upon it becomes unstable. However, if the error memory is clear about the high-voltage fault, and given the symptoms you described, it's prudent to have it professionally diagnosed with proper diagnostic tools. It sounds like it is going to be a visit to the workshop!

Cheers for the insights! Gave everything a look-over, but the cables seem fine, and the 12V battery is healthy. Bit the bullet and took it to a shop. Turns out the high-voltage battery was knackered. New one fitted, fault cleared, cost 290€. Runs like a charm again. Thanks again for the help!

I had a similar problem with my Saxo. While the problems might appear daunting, especially with those high-voltage systems, it's worth considering a few things. Think of it like a water pipe system: if one section is blocked or leaking, the entire system suffers. Have you checked the high-voltage cables for any signs of damage or corrosion? A visual inspection can often reveal a lot. Also, did you check the 12V battery? What does the error memory say?
