Saxo NOx Sensor Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Citroen Saxo with a gasoline engine and 244,505 km is experiencing a persistent check engine light, with diagnostics indicating a NOx sensor failure. The owner suspects a defective cable or plug connection, possibly exacerbated by a slight exhaust leak. After consulting with others who had similar issues, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty NOx sensor connection, which was resolved by a mechanic, eliminating the check engine light.

What was the ultimate cause of your check engine light? Was it indeed related to the emission sensor, and did you also suspect the air-fuel ratio? I'm curious if the sensor cable was defective.

Yeah, it was the NOx sensor in my case. I couldn't figure out the cable issue myself. I ended up taking it to a workshop; they sorted it out pretty quickly.

Took your advice and went to a mechanic. Turns out, it was indeed a faulty NOx sensor connection as suspected! They fixed the cable, and the light is gone. Total cost: 95€ Thanks a lot for the help!

Hey, I had something similar with my Saxo. Check Engine light and all that. Didn't notice an exhaust leak though. Was it hard to diagnose?
