Saxo Overheating Check Engine Light

Hey, having trouble with my 2001 Citroen Saxo diesel. 183485 km on the clock. Check engine light comes on and it's overheating. Diagnostic says it's the active air flap system. Thinking it's the electromechanism controlling the air intake flap. Anyone seen this before? What should I check before I spend a ton on repairs?

I had a similar issue on my Saxo. Check engine light and overheating... Sounds like the air flap motor is failing. Have you checked the flap itself to see if it's physically stuck?

Thanks! Yeah, I checked the flap, and it seems to move okay. Was your diagnostic scan also pointing to the air flap motor?

Yes, my diagnostic also showed the air flap motor. Eventually, the shop confirmed it. I'd suggest getting it checked by a professional; could save you some headaches. In my case, the entire cooling system was affected.

Appreciate the insight. Looks like a workshop visit is happening. At least I have an idea what's going on before I get the bill. I'm guessing around 590€ for the repair. Thanks again.
