SC central locking failure

Hey, my 2000 Lexus SC with a gasoline engine is giving me a major headache! The central locking just quit working. Now I can't lock or unlock the doors. Oh, and the error memory has a fault stored, great. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

The central locking system of a 2000 Lexus SC stopped functioning, and an error code was stored in the memory. Possible causes include a blown fuse or a defective cable or plug connection. The issue was resolved by fixing a defective plug connection at a workshop.

I had a similar problem with my SC. Have you checked the fuse box? Could be a simple blown fuse. Although, if it's throwing an error code, it might be more than that.

Fuse box, huh? I'll take a look, but where exactly should I be looking? And if it's not the fuse, what else could it be?

Well, the fuse box diagrams are usually on the cover. But if it's not that, and you're getting an error, honestly, it could be a defective cable or plug connection. Best to get it checked at a workshop.

Thanks! Took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was a defective plug connection. Cost me 95€ to fix. Appreciate the tip!
