SC engine idling uneven
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around an uneven idling issue in a 2009 Lexus SC. The initial suspicion was a defective engine mount or a faulty cable or plug connection. A similar experience with a Saab suggested checking the motor mount and its connections, particularly the sensor attachment. The problem was resolved by repairing a defective plug connection, costing 95€.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing your experience. When you say 'connection', do you mean the electrical connection related to the mount, or something else? What kind of Saab was it?

I had the same issue with a Saab 9-3. In my case, it was the connection where the sensor is attached to the mount. Sometimes the cable gets brittle or the plug is loose. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to get it checked out thoroughly though.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to the shop; turns out it was exactly as you suspected, a defective plug connection causing the issue. Repair cost 95€. All is well now.

Sounds like a failed motor mount. I had a similar experience with my old Saab. Same symptoms, uneven idling and eventually, noticeable vibrations. Check the rubber mount for cracks or degradation. Sometimes, it's not the mount itself, but the connection to it.
