SC incorrect temperature readings

My 2010 Lexus SC with a gasoline engine has a strange issue. The display shows incorrect temperatures, the check engine light is on, and the engine takes forever to warm up. I suspect a restricted cooling grille or a fuse issue? Anyone experienced this?

I own a Lexus SC as well and experienced something similar. The engine temperature readings were all over the place. Did you check the coolant level, or inspect the grille itself for physical obstructions? Is the engine overheating, or just taking longer to warm up?

Thanks! Coolant level seems fine. Visually inspected the grille, and I don't see any obvious obstructions. The engine doesn't seem to be overheating, just struggling to reach normal operating temperature. Is there any specific fuse I should be looking for?

My symptoms were remarkably similar. Given that you've already checked the coolant and the grille, I'd recommend a reputable workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose the cooling system. It could be a faulty sensor.

Thanks so much! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were right, it was a faulty temperature sensor. They replaced it, and the issue is resolved. The final repair bill was 52€. I appreciate the advice!
