SC Stalling at Idle

My 2005 Lexus SC with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. I'm getting a check engine light and a stored error code, and it keeps stalling at idle. I suspect a bad IAC valve, especially since the intake looks heavily contaminated. Anyone else run into this?

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my SC. Have you cleaned the throttle body and checked for any vacuum leaks before going straight for the IAC valve?

Yeah, I gave the throttle body a good cleaning, but no luck. I didn't find any vacuum leaks either. Did cleaning the throttle body fix it for you, or did you end up replacing the IAC valve?

Cleaning didn't do squat for me. Eventually I caved and took it to a shop. Turned out the IAC was toast and the intake was gunked up bad. Cost me around 425€ to get it sorted.
