Scenic ABS Traction Control Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Renault Scenic is experiencing issues with the ABS and traction control systems, indicated by warning lights. The local garage suspects a speed signal fault and a malfunctioning ECM (Engine Control Module) as potential causes. Another owner with similar symptoms confirmed that replacing the control unit resolved the issue, suggesting this as a likely solution.

They weren't too specific, to be honest. Just mumbled something about a faulty speed signal affecting the ABS and traction control, and that it's probably the control unit itself causing all the problems. Does that match your experience? What did you end up doing?

Yep, that rings a bell. Turned out to be a defective control unit as they said. I tried a few things myself, but in the end, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a proper workshop. They replaced the unit, and it sorted everything out. I’d recommend doing the same.

Right, that's what I was afraid of! Sounds like I'm heading for a hefty bill. The garage quoted me around 1000€ for the repair. Thanks for sharing your experience; at least I know what to expect. Cheers!

Sounds familiar. I have a Scenic too, and I had almost the same symptoms a while back. ABS light constantly on, traction control light as well and problems with braking. Did they mention anything about which sensor or wheel might be causing the issue?
