Scenic Active hood fault and airbag warning
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Renault Scenic is experiencing an "Active hood fault" and a constant airbag warning light. The diagnostic tool indicates an error with the active hood system, specifically the spring actuators. A suspected cause is a defective acceleration or impact sensor, which might be linked to the collision detection system. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the sensor at a workshop, suggesting a professional repair might be necessary.

Thanks for the quick reply! No bumps or anything unusual that I can recall. Just started happening out of the blue. Is the impact sensor you are referring to the same as the acceleration sensor? And did you manage to fix the issue yourself?

Could be the same sensor, yes, but I'm not certain about the exact name. I didn't fix it myself; the car electronics are a bit too much for me. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the fault and replaced the sensor. From what I remember it was a relatively straightforward job for them.

Thanks a lot for the info! Sounds like a trip to the workshop is in order. I'll report back once it's sorted. Just for info, the error was actually a defective impact sensor which cost 315€ to fix.

Hey, I've had something similar happen with my Scenic. If I remember correctly, the impact sensor or collision detection system might be the culprit. Do you notice anything else out of the ordinary besides the warnings? Did it happen after a bump or any event like that?
