Scenic Automatic Transmission Problems

My 2010 Renault Scenic diesel's automatic transmission is acting up. Implausible shifting, transmission indicator light, not shifting smoothly. Sometimes feels stuck in emergency mode. Only 41831 km on it. I suspect undervoltage. Similar experiences?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old 2012 Opel Astra. The symptoms manifested as a pronounced slipping sensation. The whole car jerked. Any unusual noises or smells accompanying the shifting problems? Has the problem been getting progressively worse?

No unusual noises or smells that I've noticed. But yes, it seems to be gradually worsening. What ended up being the issue with your Astra?

The Astra's issue turned out to be worn-out transmission oil, which was causing voltage instabilities, which in turn caused erratic shifting. Like trying to run a marathon with shoes full of sand. Given your Scenic's symptoms and the gradual worsening, I'd highly recommend getting the transmission oil checked and possibly replaced by a professional. Could very well be the same culprit.

That's helpful. The shop confirmed it was indeed the transmission oil. An oil replacement did the trick, costing me around 240€. Appreciate the advice!
