Scenic control unit communication error

I'm experiencing a control unit communication error with my 2019 Renault Scenic diesel. The engine overheats, the check engine light is on, and coolant spills under the car, likely from excessive cooling system pressure. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else had this?

I had a similar problem with my 2018 Opel Insignia. Almost identical symptoms. It turned out to be a connectivity issue with the control module, likely a wiring fault or a CAN bus problem. Was the error intermittent at first?

Thanks. Yes, the error was intermittent initially, appearing sporadically before becoming more consistent. Can you tell me more about the specifics of the connectivity issue you encountered and how it was resolved?

The garage diagnosed it as a faulty wiring harness leading to the control module. They initially suspected the module itself, but after testing the connections, they found a damaged wire. I ended up having the entire harness replaced. Given your symptoms and the intermittent nature of the problem, I strongly advise having a workshop check the wiring and connections to your control unit. I paid about 120€ for the repairs.

Thanks for the detailed information. I took the vehicle to a workshop. It turned out to be a defective plug connection, as I suspected. They repaired the connection, and the total cost was 95€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
