Scenic Crankshaft Camshaft Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Renault Scenic is experiencing a 'Crankshaft to Camshaft Reference Value' error, leading to a check engine light, poor engine response, and increased fuel consumption. The issue may be due to a defective crankshaft sensor, which can affect engine synchronization and timing. It is suggested to have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop, as replacing the crankshaft sensor resolved a similar issue for another Scenic owner.

Misfires, huh? I haven't specifically looked for misfires. How would I check for that, and is that related to the crankshaft/camshaft thing? Is it something I can fix myself?

Well, I'm no mechanic, but misfires can mess with the engine timing and throw those crankshaft/camshaft codes. Honestly, with those symptoms, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. I ended up paying about 340€ for them to sort the whole thing out. It turned out it was the crankshaft sensor. They replaced it and everything was fine.

Thanks a lot for the info! It's really helpful. I'll book it in at the workshop and tell them about the crankshaft sensor. Hopefully that's the issue and it'll get sorted quickly. Appreciate your help!

Hey, I had a similar experience with my Scenic. Engine light was on, and the performance wasn't great. The error code pointed to issues with engine synchronization. Have you checked for any misfires?
