Scenic door lock faulty cable

I own a Renault Scenic, 2007 diesel, with 177992 km. Recently, the door contact signal seems faulty, so I can't lock or unlock the door. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Summary of the thread

Another participant suggested checking the door switch or sensor, as these are common culprits in such malfunctions. Sounds familiar! I had the same issue with my Opel Astra a while back. The automatic locks went haywire. Have you checked the door switch or sensor? Those are usually the culprits when it comes to vehicle doors and car sensor malfunctions.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the door switch located? And is it difficult to access?

On my Astra it was integrated in the door lock. I am not sure about your Scenic. I fiddled around with it for a while, but ended up taking it to the workshop. If you're not comfortable with auto electrics, I'd recommend getting it checked out professionally.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the shop and you were right. It was a defective cable. Repair cost me 95€. Everything works again.
