Thanks, I visually checked the sensor, but not the cable and plug specifically. Was the bad connection obvious, or did you need special tools to find it?

It wasn't obvious at first. The cable looked fine, but a closer look revealed a slightly corroded pin inside the connector. Given your symptoms, a workshop visit for diagnosis is a good idea. The repair cost me around 95€.

I had similar issues with my Scenic. Did you check the cable and plug connection to the temperature sensor? That was my problem.
