Good to know, thanks! I checked for obvious corrosion, but nothing stood out. Where on your Volvo was the problem? Near the sensor, or further back in the loom? Makes you wonder if these sensors are just problematic.

On the Volvo, a pin in the connector was loose, causing intermittent contact. Tricky to spot. Based on your description and potential repair cost, you might be best served by taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and get it sorted for a reasonable price. Save yourself the headache!

Appreciate the insight! I think you're right, I'll schedule an appointment. The shop determined the sensor cable needed replacement, costing 95€.

Interesting! Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Volvo V70. Different make, but the symptoms were alike. My climate control went haywire and certain functions stopped working. Did you check the wiring harness for corrosion or damage? Could be a simple fix.
