Scenic Gearbox Slipping Rough Shifts

I'm experiencing a concerning issue with my 2020 Renault Scenic diesel. At 133345 km, the gearbox is slipping and shifts are becoming increasingly unclean. I suspect it might be related to the transfer case oil wear or defective gears. Has anyone encountered similar problems? I'm worried about the potential damage.

Wow, that sounds familiar! I've got a Scenic myself, and I had similar symptoms a while back. Slipping and rough shifts, just like you describe. Did you check the transfer fluid? Mine was practically black. How's the gear wear?

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't checked the transfer fluid myself yet. I'm not the most mechanically inclined, but that is indeed very helpful. Was the oil wear the actual cause? And what did you end up doing to fix it?

Yep, for me it was the transfer case. Best to get it to a workshop! They should be able to confirm it pretty quickly. Hopefully it's not too late to avoid major damage.

Alright, I appreciate the confirmation and advice. I'll take it to a workshop ASAP. You were right. The transfer case gears were indeed defective due to mechanical wear, and the oil wear was also significant. The total repair cost amounted to 330€ Thanks very much for the help!
