Scenic rough idle and fuel consumption

My 2018 Renault Scenic gasoline is playing up. It’s got 181906 km on the clock and now it starts like a tractor, drinks fuel like it’s free, and feels like half the horses have bolted. It idles rough and sometimes just dies at the lights. I'm pretty sure the injection nozzle is defective. Anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my Scenic. Is it possibly a dirty injection valve? Clogging can cause havoc with the fuel/air mixture and mess up the emissions. You might be getting away with nothing if that's the case.

Mine's petrol. But yeah, sounds like we're on the same page. What did you end up doing about it?

Sorry, force of habit calling it diesel, ignore me! It was exactly the same issue. I tried some injector cleaner additive at first, but no luck. Eventually, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop.

Cheers for the info. Was hoping to avoid the workshop but it looks like that's where I'm heading. They quoted me 515€ to fix the defective nozzle. Ouch!
