Scenic steering column fault

My 2021 Renault Scenic with a gasoline engine has an electric steering column adjustment that's not working. There's an error stored, and the column won't adjust. I suspect a bad cable or plug connection. Has anyone seen this?

I had a similar issue on my Scenic, though it's an older model. Is the steering still functional, just without the adjustment? Could be a CAN bus issue, but more likely a simple connection problem as you suspect.

Yeah, steering works fine, thankfully! Just the column adjustment is dead. CAN bus issue sounds nasty...where should I be hunting for these dodgy connections? Any specific plugs known to cause trouble?

If the steering itself is working, I'd stick with your initial thought of a connection issue at the column itself. Honestly, without proper diagnostics, you're just poking in the dark. Best bet is to get it to a workshop; could save you a lot of hassle.

Cheers for the advice! Dropped it at the workshop, turns out you were spot on – loose plug connection. Bill came to 95€ including diagnostics, so not too bad!
