Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hello everyone, I have a strange problem with my 2010 Ford Falcon with a gasoline engine. The car is not behaving as usual and the warning light in the speedometer is on. I think it might be due to the system readiness check not being completed, but I'm not sure. Have any of you ever had a similar problem and can give me some troubleshooting tips? How did you get this solved at your garage and what was your experience? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Ford Mondeo which is only 2 years older (2008). I would describe myself as someone with a low level of experience when it comes to car problems, but I knew something was wrong with my battery. I took the problem to my local garage. It turned out that the battery had recently been disconnected or replaced and that was the reason for the warning light. They fixed it for 90 euros and I haven't had any problems since. To be able to help you more accurately, could you maybe give me more information about your car? Specifically, have there been any recent modifications or repairs? Hope that helps!

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. My Ford Falcon now has a good 74472 km on the clock and the last service was at about 70000 km. I haven't done anything new or special to the car, so I don't think a recent modification or repair is the cause. The battery hasn't been changed or disconnected either. In any case, I will take your advice and take the car to my local garage to have the battery checked. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Thanks again!

Hi, thanks for the additional information. It's good that you haven't made any major changes or repairs, as these can often lead to such warnings. As the battery has not been changed or disconnected, I would say it could be other things. For example, it could be the oil pressure sensor not working correctly. It could also be that your fuel filter is clogged. These parts are not expensive to replace, but a faulty component could be responsible for the warning light. The best thing to do is to have your car checked at the garage. They can quickly determine the cause using fault codes. I hope it's nothing serious and that your Ford Falcon will soon be running smoothly again. Good luck and let us know what it was in the end!

Hello, thank you very much for the further suggestions and tips. The tip about the oil pressure sensor and the fuel filter makes sense. It's true that something like that can easily be overlooked. Your experience has helped me a lot to get a better idea of what the problem could be. I will definitely take your advice and take my car to the garage tomorrow morning and have everything checked. I also hope it's nothing serious. I will definitely keep you posted on what exactly the problem is. Thanks again and have a great evening!
