Moin, no problem, I'm happy to help! Metal shavings in the oil are definitely something you shouldn't ignore. They can come from inside the engine and indicate increased wear. Since the oil light is also illuminated, this could also really indicate a defect in the engine oil pressure switch. You could try testing or replacing the oil pressure switch yourself, if you feel up to it. Or, you could take it to the garage and have the professionals do it. Don't expect all problems to be solved easily though, the metal shavings in the oil may be a sign of something bigger. Hopefully this is helpful and your problem will be solved soon. Best regards!

I would recommend that you stop driving your VW Polo immediately. Metal shavings in the oil and a warning light can indicate serious engine issues like worn bearings or turbo failure. Therefore, it's best to get a professional opinion, including oil analysis and engine checks. Promptly addressing this can prevent catastrophic damage. Hope this helps!

I have an oil pressure switch f22 on my Audi a3 2,0tfsi. I changed the switch however when I press my foot down on the accelerator the engine light flashes. There’s no loss in power or anything. Anyone know what’s wrong? I serviced the car not long ago it used to burn oil but now it doesn’t

Check if the oil level is correct and ensure there are no leaks. A flashing engine light can indicate a misfire or other issues. It might be helpful to scan for error codes with an OBD-II scanner to pinpoint the problem. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hello, I had a similar problem, only I didn't have any chips in the oil with my VW Golf Diesel, year of manufacture 2013. I would describe myself as someone with some experience in car repairs. About the problem: In my case, the cable connection to the switch was defective at the time. I had it checked at the garage to make sure, it cost me 95 euros in total. However, I suspect something else in your case, the chips would definitely worry me! Best regards
