Searching for solutions to the problem of missing tire pressure on the Mini Paceman (Diesel, 2013)

Hey guys, I have a few problems with my Mini Paceman (diesel, year of manufacture 2013). I notice that the tire pressure drops enormously. Have any of you ever had similar experiences and could give me some troubleshooting tips? Would like to know how this was fixed in the workshop. Thanks in advance!

Summary of the thread

A 2013 Mini Paceman owner is experiencing significant tire pressure loss and seeks advice on potential causes and solutions. Suggestions include checking the tire valve and seal for damage or looseness, as these are common issues that can lead to pressure loss. If these components are intact, the problem might lie with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), which could have a faulty sensor. Addressing these areas could help resolve the issue without incurring high repair costs.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2011 Mini Countryman. I only have some experience with cars, so I went to the garage. There they found that there was a sporadic faulty communication between control units. It cost me 955 euros to fix this problem. It would be helpful if you could provide a little more information about your vehicle to be able to help more precisely. For example, what size tires are you running? And have you ever checked the valve or the tire seal? It could be that this is where the problem lies.

Thanks for your answer. My Mini has a mileage of 90000 km. I have fitted 205/55 R17 tires. But I haven't checked the valve and seal yet. I'll check them next time, thanks for the tip! Hopefully it's nothing too expensive. Cheers!

Hey, 205/55 R17 are the same ones I have on my Countryman, so no difference there. The valve and seal thing is definitely worth a look. Maybe the valve has come loose or the seal is damaged, which can't hold the pressure in the tire. If that doesn't help, it could possibly be a defect in the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system). I had this with my old car once, where a sensor was broken and constantly showed a low pressure even though the tire pressure was OK. As I said, this is just a guess and the source of the fault could lie elsewhere. So, first check the simplest thing (valve and sealing ring), and if it's not that, I would definitely have the TPMS checked. It might not be as expensive as it was for me with the faulty communication between the control units. Good luck with that! Hopefully it's nothing too expensive.

Hey, many thanks for the valuable tips! I will check the valves and seals first. Then, if necessary, I'll have the TPMS looked at more closely. Hopefully the repair won't be too expensive. Have a nice day!
