Seat Alhambra Cruise Control Problem

I'm stumped. My 2019 Seat Alhambra diesel, with 172294 km on the clock, has developed a cruise control problem. Error message pops up in the speedometer, and the cruise control is completely dead. VCDS diagnostics points to a 'cable or plug connection of the component defective'. Before I start tearing apart the steering wheel looking for a short, has anyone seen this before?

Cruise control malfunction, eh? Had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane. Steering wheel controls went bonkers. Did the error code point to a specific area? Checked the fuse box?

Interesting. When you say 'steering wheel controls went bonkers' on your Megane, was it intermittent, or completely dead? Did you get any other weird electrical gremlins at the same time? I've checked the obvious fuses, but maybe I missed something.

Mine was completely dead, one morning it just stopped working, and the error was always present. No other symptoms, just the cruise control. I'd get it checked by a workshop and see what error codes they pull up. It'll save you a lot of time.

Big thanks! You nailed it. Diagnostics pointed to a dodgy connection in the steering wheel controls. 95€ later, a new plug and all is well. Cruise control is back, error's gone. Appreciate the help!
