When you say 'running rough', do you mean it was hard to start, or did it lack power while driving? Also, did you get any error messages specifically mentioning the camshaft sensor? I'm wondering if the crankshaft sensor could also cause these symptoms.

Yeah, 'running rough' meant it was both hard to start sometimes, and definitely lacked power. The error code pointed directly to the camshaft sensor, so it was pretty clear. Cleaning the contacts may solve your issue. If cleaning doesn't work, replacing the sensor is the next step. If the error code is specific, I would recommend going to the workshop.

Took it to the workshop and it was indeed the camshaft sensor. They replaced it and cleaned a slightly corroded connector. The total was 95€, which I think is reasonable. The Alhambra is running smoothly again. Thanks a lot for your help!

I had a similar issue with my Alhambra, although I'm not 100% sure if it's the exact same thing. The check engine light came on, and it was also running rough. Have you checked the camshaft position sensor? It could be related to that. I'm no expert, but it's worth a look. Maybe also check the crankshaft sensor while you're at it.
