Seat Alhambra Diesel Engine Error

I'm having a headache with my 2016 Seat Alhambra, diesel engine, around 120936 km on the clock. The check engine light keeps popping up, and the engine power is noticeably reduced. I ran a diagnostic and it's showing an error with the charge air temperature sensor. I've checked the sensor itself, and it seems okay. The error description mentions a defective cable or plug connection. Any ideas before I start tearing the air intake apart looking for a broken wire? I'm trying to avoid unnecessary work.

That sounds familiar. I had almost the same issue with my old Vauxhall Astra. Check engine light, limp mode. Was there any weird whistling noise too?

A whistling noise? Actually, now that you mention it, yes. There's also a loud hissing when I accelerate sometimes. Did you also have temperature fluctuation issues? What did they find on your Astra?

That whistling and hissing is a classic sign of a leak somewhere in the air intake system. My Astra had a cracked hose, which caused temperature fluctuation and similar symptoms. Unless you're really comfortable with automotive electrics, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They'll have the proper tools to diagnose it quickly.

You were spot on. The workshop checked the sensor connections and found a faulty plug. They replaced it, cleared the error memory, and now it runs perfectly. Total cost was 95€. Thanks again for the help.
