Seat Alhambra Diesel Engine Issue

Hi. I'm having some trouble with my 2003 Seat Alhambra diesel. It's got some kilometers on it. The check engine light came on, and I've noticed higher fuel consumption and reduced engine power. I scanned it, and it's showing cylinder pressure fluctuation. Could this be crankshaft related? Is it something serious, like the turbocharger needing replacement? I'm hoping it's not a major issue, as I don't have a ton of money to spend on repairs.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Alhambra. Check your intake manifold and turbocharger hoses for leaks. A small crack can cause pressure fluctuations. Has the timing belt been inspected recently?

Thanks for the quick reply! The intake manifold was mentioned during the last service, I will check the turbocharger hoses. When you had the problem, did you also experience reduced engine power or any engine knocking?

Yes, reduced power and a slight engine knocking, especially when accelerating. I'd get it checked out by a professional. A proper diagnostic scan should pinpoint the root cause. Could save money in the long run. Don't keep driving it like that.
