Summary of the thread
A 2016 Seat Alhambra with a diesel engine had its malfunction indicator light on, with the error memory indicating a water sensor issue. When you had the issue, did the error code point to the water sensor, or was it generic? Did you try cleaning the contacts before replacing the sensor?

The error code indicated a water sensor fault. I didn't try cleaning the contacts. Given the potential issues with a bad sensor, I went to a workshop. I suggest you do the same.

The garage visit confirmed a faulty water sensor. After replacing it, the malfunction indicator is off and the engine runs smoothly. The cost was 95€.

I had a similar issue with my Seat Alhambra. Do you have any sensor testing to check the component? Have you checked the electrical connections for corrosion or damage, which could cause an electrical fault?
