Seat Alhambra Diesel Engine Running Rich
Summary of the thread
The 2013 Seat Alhambra diesel engine was running rich, leading to reduced power, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion was a defective injection valve or injector, despite the spark plugs being in good condition. After further investigation, it was confirmed that a defective fuel injector was the cause, and replacing all four injectors resolved the issue, restoring smooth engine performance.

Starting is a bit harder than before, yes. And no, I have never cleaned the intake manifold. Could that really cause this kind of problem, and would that also affect the catalytic converter and oxygen sensor?

Hard starting points to the same thing. Cleaning the intake might help a bit, but if it's a bad injector, it's a bad injector. Save yourself the headache, get it checked by a workshop.

Turns out it was a defective fuel injector. Replaced all four, and the engine is running smoothly now. The cost was 515€. Thanks for the input.

Sounds like a rich mixture issue. Does it have any trouble starting? Have you ever cleaned the intake manifold?
