Seat Alhambra electrical malfunctions

Alright, I'm pulling my hair out here! My 2017 Seat Alhambra with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. It's got about 98371 km on the clock. I keep getting a weird error message on the speedometer, plus there's an error stored in the memory. When starting the engine, it feels weak, and I'm seeing general electrical malfunctions, especially with the auxiliary power features. I suspect the auxiliary battery isn't charging properly, or maybe it's just a battery failure. Has anyone else experienced this madness?

I have the same car, a Seat Alhambra. I recall experiencing similar electrical issues some time ago. It might be the auxiliary battery. Have you checked its voltage? A weak auxiliary battery can cause these errors.

Thanks for the quick reply! Auxiliary battery, you say? Where is it located, and how did you confirm it was the culprit? What do you mean by low voltage exactly? I am not a car expert, but I want to know the basics before going to the workshop. Did you also get a battery failure message?

Yes, I experienced pretty much the same. By low voltage I mean that when measured with a multimeter the auxiliary battery showed a value significantly below 12V when the engine was off. It resulted in the error message you describe. Given the symptoms, I would advise you to go directly to the workshop. It sounds like a battery replacement should solve the issue.

Took the Alhambra to a trusted mechanic, and it turned out to be exactly what you described a failing auxiliary battery. The low voltage was causing all sorts of electrical gremlins. A battery replacement later, and everything's back to normal. Cost me about 290€, but so worth it for peace of mind. Thanks again for the help!
