Seat Alhambra engine issues
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Seat Alhambra with a gasoline engine is experiencing poor starting, increased fuel consumption, reduced power, uneven idling, and occasional stalling. The suspected cause is a defective injection nozzle, possibly due to dirt or deposits. Suggestions include checking for misfires, inspecting spark plugs and ignition coils, and consulting a workshop for a comprehensive diagnosis. Ultimately, a faulty injector was confirmed and replaced, resolving the issues.

Thank you for your response. Your experience is helpful. Regarding the fuel delivery issues you mentioned, did you experience any specific diagnostic codes or other indicators that directly pointed to the injection system? I am trying to ascertain the most efficient way to guide the workshop's diagnostic process.

Indeed, the diagnostic codes were instrumental in pinpointing the issue. The error codes indicated a misfire and pointed to irregularities in the fuel mixture, specifically an imbalance across different cylinders. While it is possible that the spark plugs or ignition coils may contribute to misfires, the recurring and persistent nature of the error codes, combined with the specific symptoms you described, strongly suggested an issue with the fuel injection system itself. Given the potential complexity of the injection system and the need for specialized tools for proper diagnosis and repair, I would strongly recommend consulting with a qualified workshop. They will be able to perform a comprehensive assessment and determine the precise cause of the problem. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty injector which required replacement.

Thank you for your insights. It appears you were spot on. I took the vehicle to a trusted workshop, and after diagnostics, they confirmed a defective injection nozzle. The repair, including parts and labor, came to approximately 515€. The vehicle is now running smoothly again, with the engine performing as expected.

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing these issues with your Alhambra. I also own an Alhambra, though I cannot say I have the identical engine variant. Your symptoms, however, sound eerily similar to a problem I encountered some time ago. The reduced engine performance, combined with the uneven idling, particularly points towards fuel delivery issues. Have you considered the possibility of a misfire? That could also explain the poor starting and the increased fuel consumption. It is worth checking the spark plugs and ignition coils, although with your engine type, the injection system is a more probable culprit.
