Seat Alhambra engine power loss

I'm experiencing some issues with my 2012 Seat Alhambra, gasoline engine. The check engine light is on, and the engine power seems significantly reduced. My suspicion is a defective throttle valve, maybe the accelerator pedal module or some internal electronics. Could this also be the reason for bad fuel efficiency? Is this a common problem?

Sounds like the throttle body. I had similar issues with my Alhambra: check engine light, loss of power, poor fuel efficiency. Has the air flow been checked?

Air flow hasn't been checked directly. When yours had this issue, did engine idling fluctuate too? And were there any other codes besides the check engine light?

Yes, the engine idling was rough. It's likely the throttle body. The computer probably threw a code related to air flow and throttle position. I'd suggest getting it diagnosed properly. The shop should be able to confirm it.

Took the Alhambra to the workshop. You were right, it was the throttle valve. They replaced it for 265€. Runs like new again. Thanks for the help!
