Seat Alhambra engine stalling at idle

I'm having a problem with my 2011 Seat Alhambra with a gasoline engine. It has about 95697 km on it. The check engine light is on, and the engine stalls when it's idling. I think it might be a tank ventilation valve problem, maybe because the hoses are blocked. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm looking for some advice before I get it fixed.

I had something similar happen with my Alhambra. It could be the purge valve in the EVAP system. Have you made sure your gas cap is sealing properly? A bad gas cap can cause similar things to happen.

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me more about how you figured out it was the purge valve? Did your engine stall too?

Yes, it stalled sometimes. I also smelled fuel occasionally. I ended up taking it to a shop. They said it was a tank ventilation problem and changed the purge valve. Because of what you're seeing, I'd get it checked out by a professional to make sure it's the EVAP system before you replace anything. It could save you money and time.

I wanted to share that the problem is now fixed. It was the tank ventilation valve, like I thought. The hoses were clogged. The repair set me back 175€.
