Seat Alhambra engine trouble mixture preparation error
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Seat Alhambra is experiencing engine trouble, specifically a mixture preparation error, leading to reduced power, rough running, and stalling. Initial diagnostics suggest a defect in the injection valve or injector system. A suggestion to check the oxygen sensor was made, but ultimately, a professional diagnosis confirmed faulty fuel injectors as the primary cause. Replacing the injectors resolved the issue, restoring smooth engine performance.

Interesting. How did you pinpoint the oxygen sensor as the culprit? Did you experience the stalling issue at idle as well? I've also read something about the intake manifold, but I am not sure if it is related.

Well, the check engine light was on, and the diagnostic code pointed to an issue with the oxygen sensor. Replacing it improved things a bit, but the jerking persisted. That is when I decided to visit the workshop, because I did not have the required tools. They ran some tests and found out that one of the injectors was not spraying correctly. If you have similar symptoms, it's probably the same issue. Better go to a professional.

Just wanted to say that after taking it to a reputable workshop, it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector, as suspected. All four were replaced, and the engine is now running smoothly. Total cost: 515€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar issue with my Alhambra, though I can't recall the exact year. The symptoms sound familiar. Have you checked the oxygen sensor? A faulty one can really mess with the air-fuel ratio and cause similar problems.
